Why does YouTube stall and have that buffering icon in the middle of videos? According to the progress bar, it’s already downloaded plenty of the video.

Any thoughts?

How has it taken me this long to realize that I should work at the library when it’s open? Free wifi, power outlets, big tables, strict rules… what’s not to love?

Yesterday, I asked around to see if anyone wanted to let me work out of their office for an evening. I’m sure it’s a ridiculous request and makes me a weirdo, but I’m still totally interested in doing this. My desk chair at home leaves a lot to be desired and I’m tired of coffee shops. Do you work for a startup or something? Do you work late nights or on the weekends? Invite me over one night and I’ll bring coffee or beer or cheese balls.

Once I’m there, I’ll just sit at a desk with my headphones on touching my mustache and staring into my computer screen.

It’s quickly becoming Saturday night in New York City. The family is out of town and I’ve got my head down working on some projects. I’m tired of working at the apartment in my favorite, but uncomfortable chair. I’m also not looking forward to another evening in a coffee shop.

Is there a place where I can go and sit at a desk and work at a time like this?

I know I could do Kinkos, but that sounds about as appealing as sitting in a Kinkos. The library would probably be good, if it were open at night.

So, any thoughts? Where can a guy and a desk and a laptop party on a Saturday night?

EDIT: Also, any startupers working through the weekend? I’ll bring coffee or a sixpack… whichever you prefer.

A number of years ago, I was working on a side project one evening and part of it required taking a screenshot of my screen. So I did that and accidentally caught the breaking news alert for “at least two people” being taken into custody for the DC sniper case.

Fast forward several years and I’m working one evening on another side project and it too requires a screenshot. So imagine my surprise when I load up the browser to find this.

(I honestly don’t check CNN that much. I only check it when I wonder “is my internet connection down, or is my code broken.)

Today is my last day at Vimeo. Starting Monday I will be working at Boxee.

The past three years of my life have been some of the best, making these past two months a difficult time for me. I’m unbelievably proud of Vimeo and how far it has come. The amount of knowledge, friendships, and confidence I have gained is priceless. It seems like only yesterday when Jake, Zach, Andrew and I were making the Vimeo in a tiny room in Tribecca. Vimeo and its team has come a long way since then and is set on a road to success.

I couldn’t be more excited about Boxee. If you don’t know what Boxee is, watch this video. The chance to help bring another awesome idea to fruition is something I can not pass up. Boxee’s potential is bottomless and I absolutely believe that it can change the way we use our TV’s.

An extra special thanks to my friends and family for helping me through this difficult decision process. I’ll still be here in NYC and occasionally commuting to Tel Aviv.

I’ll truly miss working with my friends every day at Vimeo. It’s too bad we can’t be friends anymore.
